Speaking separately to skygatenews.com correspondent shortly after the meeting,Chief Akange Audu,former governorship aspirant on the platform of the party,and Hon Gbashima,caretaker chairman,Makurdi local government both hailed governor Samuel Ortom's Amnesty program which they described as very successful. They also expressed their support for the governor's call for the creation of Ranches for pastoral Fulanis to avoid constant clashes with Tiv and other farmers in the state.
Governor Ortom had earlier enumerated his achievements to include; amnesty program which according to him rehabilitation was being stepped up for those who surrendered their weapons,payment of Bailout funds to state and local government staff,accreditation of courses at the College of Medical sciences,Benue state University,Makurdi ,renovation of Schools of Nursing and midwifery,Makurdi,among many other achievements
Governor Samuel Ortom further assured the people of the state of his determination to rule with the fear of God,transparency,and the rule of law.
The event took place at the new Banquet Hall of the Peoples' House Makurdi.
