Obasanjo sends Inspiring Message to Nigerians-READ

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has called on Nigerians to celebrate themselves at all times.
He gave the charge yesterday at a send forth lunch in honour of His Lordship, Josiah Odowu – Fearon on his appointment as the secretary general of the World Anglican Communion, at Green Legacy Resort, Abeokuta.
Obasanjo said Nigerians should not wait for outsiders to celebrate them all the time stressing that Nigerians have always been celebrated from people outside the country.
“We should celebrate ourselves all the time. Nigerians have always been celebrated by outsiders. We should try to honour ourselves like what we are doing here today.”
In his remarks, Fearon who calls Obasanjo ‘Uncle’, revealed that his relationship with the former leader dates back to the 1970.
Describing Obasanjo as a true national leader, he enjoined Nigerians to shun religious violence and emulate Obasanjo who though a Christian, is building a mosque at his presidential library complex.
He admonished Nigerians to shun anything that could endanger the unity of the nation.
He enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of religion to embrace one another saying, “ we serve only one God with different approaches.”
He urged Yorubas in the South West to teach their northern counterparts how people of all faiths should live in harmony.
He, however, urged young people to emulate Obasanjo by cultivating the culture of reading who he says continues to read at old age.
The roll call of dignitaries include, Ogun State deputy governor, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, a presidential aspirant of APC, Sam Nda Isaiah and others.
